Albion "Poodie" Deon Burnett, 15, Bunkie
Funeral services for Albion "Poodie" Deon Burnett will be Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Amazon Baptist Church with Bishop Johnny Leary officiating. Burial will follow in the First St. Paul Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.
The family requests that visitation be observed at the Amazon Baptist Church on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.
Albion "Poodie" Burnett, age 15, of Bunkie, died at Rapides Regional Children's Hospital on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. He was born at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice, LA. He was a student at Bunkie Magnet High School. He loved to play video games, take pictures and nag his sisters. He also loved going to the skating rink with his friends. He was a very delightful young man and very respectful.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Rosa Lee Armstrong and Pansy Lee Dixon; his great grandmothers, Dorothy Mae Armstrong and Maggie Lee Dixon; his grandfather, Albert Charles Burnett, Sr. and great grandfather, Lanny Armstrong, Sr.
Albion is survived by his mother, Bridget Armstrong Burnett of Bunkie; his father, Albert Burnett, Jr. of Bunkie; his three sisters, Amira Burnett of Bunkie, Zamirah Burnett of Bunkie and Alissa Larcarte of Hessmer; his two brothers, Zayden Burnett of Bunkie and Devontae Johnson of Lake Charles; his maternal grandfather, Tim Garrett of Bunkie; his aunts, Ida Armstrong McGlory, Demetria Armstrong, Tonica Burnett-Patterson and TimMerya Rhines; his uncles, Jarmal Dixon, Aundray Burnett, Torrance Burnett, Alexander Burnett, Terrence Armstrong and Charles Armstrong and his nephew, Aiden Ford.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Antonio Calhoun, Mackenzine Zone, Ronterrion Patterson, Donterrion Patterson, Gavin Blalock, Mitchell McGlory, Antwon Armstrong, Christopher Armstrong and Keonte Compton.
