Audrey Dauzat, 93, Marksville native

AUDREY MAE DAUZAT, age 93, of Woodville, Texas passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 13, 2022 in Woodville. AUDREY was born July 21, 1928 in Marksville, LA. Formerly of Port Arthur, Audrey was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing for her family and the public. She was an avid reader. Audrey volunteered at Christus St. Mary's Hospital for more than 25 years. She was a parishioner of St. James Catholic Church and served on the Alter Society.

Preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Louis Gagnard; her husband of 50 years, Samuel Dauzat: a son, Jimmy Dauzat and a daughter-in-law, Janel Dauzat. Audrey is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Bill) Thompson of Warren, TX and a son, Gerald Dauzat and friend, Debbie Prejean of Sulfur, LA and her sister, Betty Nick of Marksville, LA. She also leaves behind, five grandchildren, Scott (Carmen) Cessac, Christopher (Stephanie) Cessac of McKinney, TX, Tammy (Chris) Ard of Ivanhoe, TX, Shanna Thompson of Vidor, TX and Chantel Savoie of Winnie, TX; Eight great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday January 20, 2022 from 8:30 - 10:30 AM at Grammier Oberle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow beginning at 11:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church. The interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
