Becky Diane Belgard, 67, Effie

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Becky Diane Belgard will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Winifred Chapel Catholic Church in Effie, with Father Albi Mulloth officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville, LA.
Mrs. Belgard, age 67, of Effie, LA. passed on Saturday, January 13, 2023 at her residence. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rothell and Anita Fuqua McNeal; brother, Dwayne McNeal; one sister, Bobbie Joell McNeal; and her lifelong friend Carla Cammack.

Mrs. Belgard was the Effie and Centerpoint mail carrier for many of years. When she wasn’t sitting on the deer stand, you could find her at the local rodeo arena, or ball park. She coached for many years and had many honorary kids.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, Ernest Belgard of Effie; sons, Mackey Belgard (Lovie) of Effie and Scott Belgard (Dustin) of Effie; and two grandchildren, Allana Beaubouef and Jaylen Belgard.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m.Visitation will reopen on Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Tyler Lacombe, Tanner Lacombe, Keith Vanderlick, Ethan Price, Mitchell Hubbard and Jordan Fuqua. Honorary pallbearers are Tucker Lacombe, Trent Luneau and David Cammack.
