CENTERPOINT - Funeral services for Ms. Betty Jo Hines will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Rush Funeral Home in Pineville with Reverend Bill Nettles officiating. Interment will follow in Campbell Cemetery in Centerpoint under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 11 a.m. until time of service.
  Mrs. Hines, age 80, of Centerpoint, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in her residence. Born on September 23, 1937, Betty graduated from Lafargue High School then earned her Bachelor's Degree in Science from Louisiana College and then went on to earn her Master's Degree in Education. She was an educator for 14 years for the Rapides Parish School Board. She most loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed cooking and her flower gardens. Betty will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
  Ms. Hines is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Thelma Smith; her sister, Edna Dauzat; and her brother, J. B. Smith.
  Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her loving husband of 62 years, Omer Hines of Centerpoint; her sons, Danny (Leisha) Hines of Centerpoint and Gary (Mary) Hines of Bryan, Texas; her grandchildren, Jessie (Jesse) Gills of Metairie, Dr. Morgan Hines of Bryan, Texas and Stephen Hines of Bryan, Texas; and her great-grandchildren, Ruston Gills and Audrey Gills.
