Beverly Stevens, 77, Bunkie

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Beverly Stagg Stevens on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Scott Chemino, V.G. officiating. Entombment will be in the Pythian Cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Melancon Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m. and resume on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.
Mrs. Stevens, age 77, of Bunkie, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at her residence. Beverly was a very devout Christian. She was a member and past Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Anthony #968, a member of Legion of Mary and was a member of the Altar Society at one time. She had been a bank teller and had worked in the city offices of Bunkie and Cheneyville. She had also been a past president of the Bunkie Jaycees Janes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilda McDaniel Stagg and John Benjamin Stagg, Sr. and her brother, John Benjamin Stagg, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Robert Stevens of Bunkie; her two sons, Todd Stevens of Alexandria and Glen Stevens of Prairieville; her sister, Joyce Stagg Whaley and husband, Tony, of Whiteville and her four grandchildren, Trevor Stevens, Brooke Stevens, Spencer Stevens and Parker Stevens.
