Brandon Kyle “Bubby” Hathorn age 28, of Effie

Funeral services for Brandon Kyle “Bubby” Hathorn will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Journey Church in Pineville, Louisiana at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor James Greer officiating. Interment will be held at the French Cemetery, Effie, Louisiana. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., until the time of service.
Brandon Kyle “Bubby” Hathorn age 28, of Effie, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Avoyelles Hospital. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John “Milton” Hathorn, III, and his paternal grandmother, Pat Bonnette.
Bubby was a sweet and loving son, grandson and uncle. His nieces and nephews were his life. They loved “Bubby” as much as he loved them. He had a special place in his heart for his brother John.
His passion was cooking. Just give him a black pot and he was a happy man. What really made Bubby happy was boiling and eating crawfish.
Before Bubby’s neck injury accident, hunting; hanging out with his friends; and working out at the gym was what he enjoyed the most. The accident took a lot away from Bubby, but his determination to get better and his will to never quit helped him defy the odds. He was a real inspiration to many. He woke up each day with the mind set to do what made him happy even though on most days, he lived in pain. Never once did his family hear him complain. He was a true fighter and was not ready to leave this world, but God had other plans…Plans for Bubby to rejoice with God in heaven.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, John Milton Hathorn, IV and Angie Bonnette Hathorn of Effie; brother John Milton Hathorn, V of Effie; paternal grandmother Gerry Hathorn of Effie, maternal grandfather Walter Bonnette of Marksville, Louisiana.; niece Kori Dugas; nephews Isaiah Aloni and John Milton Hathorn, VI.
Pallbearers honored to serve are John Milton Hathorn, V; Waylon Mayeux; Raymond Guillory; Hunter Fuqua; Christopher Cole; Mikael Bonnette and Christian Bass.
