MARKSVILLE - A memorial service for Mr. Bruce Paul Francois will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville with Father Jose Robles-Sanchez officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
Mr. Francois, age 71, of Marksville, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018, peacefully, at his residence. Born on May 12, 1946, he proudly enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict and served as a police officer on the Grand Isle Police Department prior to his retirement. Mr. Francois was an avid sportsman all of his life, fishing being his “specialty”. However, he also took great pride in his gardening and flowers.
He was preceded in death by his parents Prosper and Rosema Francois of Cottonport.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Michelle Francois of San Diego, California; four sisters, Bertha Firmin of Plaucheville, Earline Kojis of Fort Worth, Texas, Molly Gagnard of Marksville, and Elmade Rabalais of Baton Rouge; his companion of 28 years, Cheryl McCormack of Marksville; her daughter Kelly Crabtree of Denham Springs and son James McCormack, III of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren, James (Jaimie) McCormack, Remy Gable, Maggie McCormack, Alexander McCormack and Benjamin McCormack; and numerous nieces and nephews.
