Charles Simon, Sr., Mansura

Funeral Mass for Charles John Simon, Sr. of Mansura will begin at 1:00p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Mansura with Fr. Irion St. Romain officiating. Burial will be held at St. Paul Cemetery in Mansura.

Charles Simon, Sr., age 99, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Hessmer Nursing Home. Charles was proud to serve in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 320, he retired from the Mansura Volunteer Fire Department, He was a member od the Knights of Columbus and the Mansura Chapter of the Lion’s Club.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 78 years, Helen D. Simon of Mansura; children, Charles Simon, Jr. of Plaquemine, Anthony Simon of Greenwell Springs, Karen S. Brulte of Mansura, Bruce Simon of Marshall, TX, Rae Ann Cash of Baton Rouge, and Robert Simon of Mansura. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers: Terry Simon, Jeff Simon, Jason Brulte, Tommy Simon, II, Blake Cash, & Brandon Simon. Honorary pallbearers: Blaine Simon, Paul Simon, Shane Brulte, Dustin Brulte, & Todd Simon.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristye S. Grayson; son, Tommy Simon; parents, Willie Simon & Amy Scallan Simon; grandson, Scott Simon; great grandson, Hayden Simon siblings, Hattie S. Lemoine, Barney Simon, Sr., Lona S. Desselle, Ura S. Mayeux, Delton Simon, Mathilda S. Mayeux, and William Simon.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 am until 12:45 pm on Saturday, May 15, 2021, a rosary will be recited at 11:30 am at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.
