Danny Herve Rachal, 73, Mansura

Danny Herve Rachal departed this life on Monday, February 14, 2022, at the age of 73. Danny was educated in the New Orleans Public and Parochial School Systems. Danny was a former member of Our Lady of Guadalupe International Shrine of St. Jude Parish and a former member of the Knights of the St. Peter Claver. He was preceded in death by his mother Ethel Rachal Jones; his father Julius Jones and sister Earlena J. Washington and brother-in-law Lonnie Oatis, Jr. He is survived by brothers and sisters are Julius C., Aubrey L., Cheryl and Kenneth Jones and Debra J. Oatis. He is also survived by Nephews: Alvin (Crystal) Washington; Alfred Washington of Columbus, GA; Nieces: Tanyelle Oatis-Gaskew, Gabrielle D. Moore, Tiffany Washington Dabbs (Charlotte) of Munich, Germany and Amber Oatis-Mitchell. Great-nieces: Amelia and Zoe Gaskew, Denver Moore and Caylin Mitchell; Great-Nephews Troy Washington, M. Amir Washington of Columbus, GA, Tristin Dabbs of Munich, Germany and Chanan L. Mitchell. Danny was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School, Oakland Community College of Detroit, Michigan and Xavier University of New Orleans. Danny was a history buff and his knowledge of historical data was unbelievable. He was a joy to his sisters and brothers who loved his stories and life lessons. He loved music and could easily name songs after hearing only a few notes. Because of COVID mask and social distancing are required. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Paul the Apostle Church at 6828 Chef Menteur Highway, New Orleans, LA on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Fr. Charles Ndumbi, SVD officiating. Visitation 9:00am with services beginning at 10:00am; Entombment Mount Olivet Mausoleum, 4000 Norman Mayer Avenue, New Orleans, LA. Arrangements entrusted to D. W.
