Donald Brouillette, 90, Pineville

Mass of Christian Burial for Donald Joseph Brouillette will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 7, 2022, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Ricky Gremillion officiating. Entombment will be in St. Joseph #2 Cemetery, Marksville under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.

The family requests visitation be held Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Brouillette, 90, of Pineville passed from this life, Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in Alexandria.

During his working career he was a geologist for the oil industry. He started singing at 15 years old in St. Genevieve Catholic Church, and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church where he sang in the choir. He also sang in the Sacred Heart choir and Prompt Succor choir. Donald belonged to the Carlow Choir where they sang for the Pope in Rome. He enjoyed working with the Pets and People organization, visiting nursing homes with his dog, Ripley. His hobbies included tennis, gardening, fishing and woodworking. Don also had interest in genealogy, reading books on history, and never missed an LSU football game. Donald proudly served in US Army during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death his parents, Newton J. and Leonie Delery Brouillette; sister, Faye B. Whatley.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Betty Dubea Brouillette; children, Lisa Alost and husband, Jay, Newt Brouillette and wife, Kathy, Craig Brouillette and wife, Dianna, Paul Brouillette and wife, Nicole; grandchildren, Ian McDougall, Evan McDougall and wife, Katelynn, Sydney Brouillette, Collin Brouillette, Hallie Brouillette, Kelsie Brouillette, Emorie Brouillette, Lane Brouillette, Josh Alost and wife, Katie and Jessie Alost; great grandchild, Cooper Alost; a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Evan McDougall, Donavan McLeod, Scott Shovan, Jeff Dubea, Jay Alost, David Whatley and Greg Whatley. Honorary pallbearers will be Collin Brouillette, Lane Brouillette and Ian McDougall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. P. O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.

The family would like to thank the staff of Riverside Hospital, Regency House and Professional Home Health.
