Dori Blair, 87, Larto

Doris Edwards Blair, 87, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini, Alexandria, La. Doris was born on November 17, 1933 in Larto, La., to Charlie Edwards and Josie Paulk Edwards. She was a graduate of Lafargue High School in Effie, LA. She worked at the family business, Northeast Furniture Mart in Jonesville, LA.
Doris was the most loving, caring and giving person you could ever meet. No matter the circumstance, she always had a smile on her face and the put the needs of others above her own. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she helped raise, more than anything. She was actively involved in Philadelphia Baptist Church, where she was a member for over twenty-five years.
Doris is survived by her husband, Ollie “O.J” Blair; son, Darrell Fuqua (Deborah); step-children, Greg Blair (Lisa), Scott Blair (Susan), Tracy Blair, and Michelle Blair; one brother-in-law, Mike Roberson; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Doris is preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Fuqua; brothers, Morris Edwards (Glenda) and Aubrey "Butch" Edwards; sisters, Faye Bryant (Belton) and Nedra Roberson; her parents, Charlie Edwards and Josie Paulk Edwards.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Doris Edwards Blair will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Philadelphia Baptist Church, Deville, with Dr. Philip Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Alexandria.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until shortly before time of services in the church.
Pallbearers will be Michael Fuqua, Kevin Fuqua, Craig Edwards, Keith Edwards, Chad Edwards, Keith Dupree, Jeremy Fuqua, and Matthew Blair.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Andrew Fuqua, Don Sayes, and Bobby Gaspard.
