BORDELONVILLE - Funeral services for Doris Desselle of Bordelonville will take place at the St. Peter Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will commence at the St. Peter Catholic Cemetery. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church Hall on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday morning at 8 a.m.
Doris, age 99½, passed away at the Rivière de Soleil Community Care Center on Saturday, April 7, 2018. Born on September 22, 1918, she was a homemaker who loved gardening and planting flowers in her yard and tending to her pot plants on her back porch. She always had a green thumb and everything she planted would always grow and blossom so beautifully. She witnessed many changes in her long life and had many stories and could recall the smallest details about the old days. May she rest in the peace she so richly deserves.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Valley Desselle; parents, Telisma and Elma Marie Bordelon; her brothers and sisters, Eldred Bordelon, Huey Bordelon, Agnes Juneau, Rita Bordelon, and Allie Tassin; and her son-in-law, Barry Lemoine.
She is survived by her children, Mitchell (Patricia) Desselle of Bordelonville, Janice (Shelby) Bordelon of Houma, Cecile (Evans Wade) Juneau of Slidell, Donna (Paul) Arnouville of Bordelonville, Leonard Desselle of Baton Rouge and Sandra Lemoine of Moreauville; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
