Elizabeth “Gail” Washington, 65, Cottonport

Funeral service for Ms. Elizabeth Gail Washington will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Community Church Baptist with Pastor Charles E. Guillory officiating. Interment will be at St. John Community Church Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.

Ms. Washington, age 65, of Cottonport, LA., passed away at Avoyelles Hospital on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Rosezlia Mose Jacobs, Sr.; one sister, Carol Dominick.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, D’Andre Washington of Marksville, Travis Washington and Chad Washington both of Madison Heights, VA.; daughters, Jill Washington of Moreauville, Heather Washington of Cottonport; one brother, Lawrence Joseph Jacobs, Jr. (Rose) of Killeen TX.; two sisters, Margaret Francisco and Ethel Allison both of Marksville; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home and reopen on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Ryan James, Colby Lair, Jacob James, Jonathan Jacobs, Eric Jacobs, Sr. and Derrick Lewis. Honorary pallbearers are Travis Washington, Chad Washington, D’ Andre Washington, Lawrence Jacobs, Jr., Rodney Lockwood, Sr., and John Barbre.
