Ella Mae Bernard, 84, Marksville

Mass of Christian burial will be held for Mrs. Ella Mae Bernard on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Wade DeCoste officiating. Interment will be held at St. Joseph Mausoleum #2 in Marksville. Services are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville, LA.

Mrs. Bernard, age 84, of Marksville, LA. passed on Tuesday, February 6, 2023 in Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville, LA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Paul Bernard; parents, Joseph and Ida Bernard Mayeux; daughter, Sharon Carmouche; brother, Gervais Mayeux; sisters, Ila Scallan, Ina Dubeau, and baby sister, Mary Alice Mayeux; granddaughter, Kristie Ducote.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cynthia McHale (Michael) of Oklahoma City; Jeanie Rodiguez (George) of Leesville. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
