Faye Nugent, Morrow

Funeral Services for Faye Ann Nugent will be held at 11am on Tuesday, April 19 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 111 St Peter Lane, Morrow, La. 71356. Visitation at the church will begin at 9a.m, with a rosary at 10:30am, burial will be held at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Rosa, La. Officiating the service will be Father Donovan Labbe. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Faye was born October 31, 1938 in Chacahoula, La to Walter E. Richards and Maud A. Powers, she died on April 17, 2022, Easter Morning surrounded by her family in Rosa, La.
Faye spent her childhood in Dry Prong, La., but made many visits to her beloved Grandfathers (LaLa) in Chacahoula, La. She attended Northwestern University and spent her teaching career in both Public and Catholic Schools, including St. Joseph Catholic School in Plaucheville, La. Faye was a wonderful teacher and truly loved the children she taught.
On July 14, 1964 she married the love of her life Ivy Lynn Nugent and together they raised four children. She was an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church where she served as a Lector, member of the Altar Society and church rosary group. Faye was known for her sense of fashion, style and humor, always ready to be silly with friends, especially her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter E. and Maud Richards, her stepfather Lee D. Richards, daughters Alice Nugent and Caroline Nugent.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Lynn Nugent; daughter Rosalind Bunn (Charley) of Marietta, Ga., son John Nugent (Tricia) of Belledeau, La.; sister Roxie Tabor of Bossier City, La.; grandchildren Maggie Bunn, Chris Robinson, Kelly Holt, Tyler Nugent and Lane Nugent, four great grandchildren Pierce, Mary Charles, Romaro and Nyla Mae.
Honoring Faye as Pallbearers will be Charley Bunn, Tyler Nugent, Lane Nugent, Bill Holt, Brandon Robinson and Alex Tabor.
The family would like to thank Louisiana Hospice (Rebecca, Donnie and stella) her caregivers, special friends and neighbors who have been a tremendous help during her illness.
