Fred Mayeaux, Sr. 83, Hessmer

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Fred Mayeaux, Sr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer, LA. with Fr. Edwin Rodriguez officiating. Interment will be held at St. Alphonsus Mausoleum. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mr. Fred Mayeaux, Sr. age 83, of Hessmer, LA. passed away at his residence in Hessmer, LA. on Saturday, May 7, 2022.
Mr. Mayeaux was a life long resident of Hessmer, and a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He worked at Allen Canning Company and was manager for 25 years. He will truly be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Mr. Mayeaux is preceded in death by his son, Fred Mayeaux, Jr.; parents, Clemile and Della Mayeaux; brothers, Lawrence Mayeaux and Harold Mayeaux; daughter-in-law, Kim Guillot Mayeaux.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Betty Dubrock Mayeaux; daughter, Brenda Lamartiniere (Landfried) of Fifth Ward, LA; brother, Carl Mayeaux of Avondale, LA; Ricky Mayeaux of Colorado; four grandchildren, Brandon Lamartiniere, Bradley Lamartiniere, April Minyard (Ben) Lacey Reis (Mike); ten great grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday night in the Chapel.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be John A. Desoto, Kevin Normand, Brandon Lamartiniere, Bradley Lamartiniere, Ben Minyard, Mike Reis, and Willie Johnson. Cross bearer will be Luke Minyard.
