Darvel, as he was lovingly known, grew up on Angola and later moved to Vick. He graduated high school from Lafargue High in Effie, and went on to earn his BA from Louisiana State University. He was an avid LSU Tiger fan, and will be remembered for his great sense of humor. Darvel loved pulling pranks, and he kept his humorous spirit right up to the end of his life.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Tucker Lacombe, Tyler Lacombe, Tanner Lacombe, Daniel Beaubouef, Wyatt Beaubouef, Brent Roberts, and Daryl Gerald.

The family would especially like to thank his friends (especially Dawn Bergeron) and caregivers (Amanda, Mona, Ema Leigh and Miranda) who made it possible for him to live out the end of his life comfortably at home. We are forever grateful.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16th, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville.
