Isabell Johnson, 88, Bordelonville

Funeral Mass for Isabell Jewell Hoshman Johnson will take place at the St. Peter Catholic Church of Bordelonville on Thursday, August 12th, 2021 beginning at 12:00pm with Rev. Louis Sklar officiating. Burial will take place at the St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.

On Monday, August 9, 2021, Isabell Jewell Hoshman Johnson, loving wife and mother of six children, passed away at the age of 88.

Isabell was born on June 4, 1933, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a native of Tunica, LA and longtime resident of Bordelonville, LA. She graduated from Julie Graham High School, St. Francisville in 1951. She received a B.S. in Nutrition from USL Lafayette in 1955, and an ADA License from Michael Reese Hospital in 1956 from Chicago, IL. A former employee of West Feliciana School System, Department of Corrections Angola State Penitentiary and Paragon Casino. A member of St. Peter Catholic Church and a Phi Delta Epsilon.

Isabell was preceded in death by her husband Stephen Johnson, sons Merrick James and Preston Joseph, and daughter Shelia Ann.

She is survived by her daughter Rhonda Fussell, son Charles Johnson, son Patrick Johnson, and thirteen grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will start at 8:00am and last until noon on Thursday, August 12th, 2021 at the St. Peter Catholic Church Hall of Bordelonville.
