Janice Bordelon, 70, Pineville

Funeral services for Mrs. Janice Lorraine Bordelon will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverend Kent Hatfield officiating. Interment will follow in Palmer Chapel Cemetery, Kolin, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Mrs. Bordelon, 70, of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Oak Haven Nursing Home, Centerpoint, LA.

She was a devoted Christian and attended Christian Family Worship Center in Mansura. She was a patient caregiver for many years and also worked in food service for Mary Hill Retreat Center. She enjoyed singing at church, fishing, baking, cooking, and babysitting. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by one son, Jason Bordelon; her parents, Ivey, Sr. and Joyce Smith; daughter-in-law, Dianna DeRousselle Smith; three brothers, Wayne Smith, Ivey Smith, Jr., and Jimmy Lee Smith, Sr.; and three sisters, Sandra Hawthorne, Catherine Goss, and Barbara Ann Basco.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her loving husband of thirty-three years, Mark D. Bordelon, of Pineville; two sons, Chad Dodson, and his wife, Angie, of Chouteau, Oklahoma and Brandon Smith, of Cottonport; one daughter, Dawn Lavespere, and her fiancé, Shawn, of Deville; two sisters, Mildred “Millie” Maybou, of Warren, Ohio, and Shirley Joyce Dauzart, of Deville; fifteen grandchildren, Chance Dodson, Jessica Roberts, Hayley Dodson, Paige Pittman, Victoria Lavespere, Faith Lavespere, Justin Gilbert, Lillian Smith, Preslee Smith, Madison Roberts, Somer Degeyter, Ava Berthelot, Kinley Hebert, Khason Hebert, and Kolston Hebert; and five great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Friday, March 18, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Pallbearers honored to serve are: Victoria Lavespere, Shannon Basco, Sonny Mockosher, Shawn Robinson, Hunter Willis, Justin Gordon, Cody Triplett, and John Woodward. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Smith and Brock Blood.
