Joy Clark, Center Point

Joy Ann Clark passed away peacefully at Oak Haven Community Care Center in Center Point, Louisiana on Wednesday, February 3, 2022.

“Mama Joy,” as she was loving called by family and friends, was born December 29, 1933 in Port Arthur Texas. Her parents, H. A. and Pearl Woodson, as well as her sisters, Eurbel Woodson and Betty Britnell preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 70+ years, Billy Ray Clark, son Michael Clark and his wife Sandy, son Steven Clark and his wife Berta, and daughter Susan Boudreaux, all of Effie, Louisiana.

Mama Joy had 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

Joy loved the Lord and His beautiful creation, especially her family and her flower gardens. She also loved God’s people and called Philadelphia Baptist in Deville her home.

The family offers their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at Oak Haven Community Care Center in Center Point for the wonderful way they cared for Joy.

Visitation for friends and family will be held on Friday, February 4 from 5 PM until 9 PM at Hixson Brothers funeral home in Marksville, Louisiana.

Funeral services for Joy Ann Clark will be held Saturday, February 5 at 2 PM at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville, Louisiana. Interment will follow immediately at French Cemetery in Effie, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church’s mission fund.
