Kathlyn Scallan, 75, Pineville

Funeral Services for Kathlyn Marie Scallan will take place at the Escude Funeral Home of Cottonport on Monday, May 3rd, 2021 beginning at 11:30am with Rev. John Wiltse officiating. Burial will take place at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Cemetery.

Ms. Scallan, age 75 of Pineville, was called to Heaven on Thursday, April 29th, 2021 at the Rapides Regional Hospital of Alexandria, LA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Evy Plauche Scallan; one brother, Ted Scallan; and one sister, June Scallan Bordelon.

She was a native of Plaucheville, born on May 31st, 1945. Kathlyn worked for many years at the John Eskew Center of Alexandria and loved it there until she retired. Kathlyn enjoyed watching Disney movies, crafts, puzzles, coloring books, and collecting dolls. Her memory of family names and birthdays was amazing. She enjoyed visits from family and going out to a restaurant for lunch during visits. She loved to “FaceTime” with Justin, Madi, and their two dogs. She loved talking on the phone to catch up on news from the family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her nephews; Kyle Bordelon (Trisha) and Brent Bordelon (Johanna); a great nephew, Justin Bordelon (Madilyn); and a great niece, Meagan Bordelon (Dustin).

The family wants to thank all of Kathlyn’s caregivers with the Rapides ARC and supervisor Simone Boudreaux, and all of those who took care of her like she was a member of their own family for many years. Thank you to the doctors and staff at Rapides Regional Hospital for their care.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am at the Escude Funeral Home of Cottonport on Monday, May 3rd, 2021.
