Ledell Rabalais, 102, Plaucheville

Funeral Mass for Ledell Rabalais of Plaucheville will take place at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church of Plaucheville on Sunday, July 18th, 2021 beginning at 3:00pm with Fr. Martin Laird officiating. Entombment will take place at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Cemetery.

Ledell Ortego Rabalais, age 102, passed away peacefully on July 15,2021 at Avoyelles Manor Nursing Home surrounded by family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. A native of Plaucheville and retired from St. Joseph School; she was a gifted seamstress and great cook.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Patricia (James) Prevot of Baton Rouge, Virginia Rabalais of Plaucheville, Mark (Gwen) Rabalais of Baton Rouge, Ken (Julie) Rabalais of Lafayette, and David (Debbie) Rabalais of Plaucheville; her brother Richard Ortego; as well as 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Ledell was preceded in death by her mother and father, Angela and Walter Ortego; her husband Hartwell; as well as her sisters, Helen and Nadie; and her brother, Leeward.

Ledell was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, a member of the Ladies Altar Society as well as an alumnus of St. Joseph School. She was a devout Catholic and always loved and worked to glorify God.

Visitation will take place at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church on Sunday, July 18th, 2021 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm for friends with a rosary beginning at 2:30pm
