Linda Smith, 72, Echo

Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Vead Smith will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home with Brother Keith Lamartiniere officiating. Internment will be held at Lamartiniere Cemetery in Fifth Ward. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Marksville.
Mrs. Smith, age 72, of Echo passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 in Echo.
She was a loving mother and caring grandmother who was always there for her family. She was known as a sweet lady throughout her community. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals, listening to music and singing along.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Vead, Sr. and Mary Carmouche Vead; husband, Delinzy Smith; brothers, Terry Vead and Norman Vead, Jr.; sisters, Judy Roberts, and Mona Vead.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Eddie J. Smith (Lynn) of Echo, six daughters, Stephanie A. LaBorde (Paul) of Hessmer, Jacqueline M. Dunlap of Millington, TN, JoAnn Dauzat (Donald) of Fifth Ward, Karen Dauzat of Marksville, Sherri Dauzat (Arthur, Sr.) of Echo, Debbie Dauzat (Paul) of Echo; brother, David Vead (Billie) of Marksville; sisters, Gail Dauzat (Robert) of Vilonia, Arkansas, Patsy Vead of Marksville, 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers from 5:00 pm until time of service on Wednesday.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Brian LaBorde, Brandon J. LaBorde, Joshua Dauzat, Shaun Dauzat, Chris Dauzat, Charlie Bryant, Arthur Dauzat, Jr., and Hunter Carmouche.
