Louis DeCuir, 81, Moreauville

Louis DeCuir, a beloved father, husband, and brother, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2023, at the age of 81.

Born on January 17, 1942, Louis embraced a life filled with adventure and a deep appreciation for nature. He found great solace and joy in exploring the great outdoors, honing his skills as a hunter, and immersing himself in the beauty of the world around him. His passion for the wilderness knew no bounds, and he delighted in sharing his expeditions and knowledge with others.

Louis was a loving and devoted father to his daughter Jeannine DeCuir and his son Andre Louis DeCuir. He will be dearly missed. His sister Carolyn DeCuir also mourns the loss of her brother and the bond they shared throughout their lives. Louis’ kindness, generosity, and love will forever be etched in the hearts of his loved ones.

We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating the incredible life of Louis DeCuir at his Funeral Mass, which will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Moreauville. A gathering will take place at the Escude Funeral Home of Moreauville before mass beginning at 9:00am until the time of his funeral mass. Following the ceremony, Louis will be laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Catholic Mausoleum.

During this difficult time, let us come together to support one another and remember the vibrant spirit of Louis DeCuir. His zest for life and love for the outdoors will continue to inspire us all. Though he may be gone, his memory will forever live on in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Atchafalaya River Rescue.
