Lurry Laborde, 84, Hessmer

Funeral services for Lurry Joseph Laborde, will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023 beginning at 11:00 am in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer with Father John Wiltse officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Lurry Laborde, 84, resident of Hessmer passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Riviere De Soliel Community Care Center in Mansura.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Laborde; daughter, Carol Laprairie; great-grandchild, Layla Simon; parents, Rimes, Sr. and Marence (Mills) Laborde; siblings, Joyce St. Romain, Donald Laborde, Hilburn Laborde, Harvey Laborde, Theresa Laborde, Betty Laborde and Marie Laborde.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Vincent (Bonny) Laborde of Mansura and Keith Laborde of Bunkie; daughters, Wanda (John) Laborde of Mansura and Hali Laborde; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Howard Laborde of Mansura, Rimes Laborde, Jr of Westwego, Dorothy Jeansonne of Poland, Patsy Wells of Mena Arkansas, Beryl Dauzat of Brouillette, Clara Juneau of Hessmer, Steve Laborde of Hessmer and Malcolm Laborde of Waggaman.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include, Toby Desselles, Sean Laborde, John Sieveking, Kane Dauzat, Michael Johnson, Fred Dauzat, Christopher Mingo, Scott Ferguson, Malcolm Laborde, and Brent Laborde.

Visitation will begin at 5:00pm until 11:00pm on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at the Escude Funeral Home in Mansura. A rosary prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume at 8:00am until time of service on Monday, April 23, 2023.
