Lydia Bonnette Jarreau, 59, Hessmer

Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Lydia Bonnette Jarreau will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville, LA. and will resume at the Hixson Brothers Chapel on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. October 28, 2023 until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer. Interment will he be held in Cushman Cemetery, Marksville under the direction of Hixson Brothers.

Mrs. Jarreau, age 59, of Hessmer passed away at her residence on Wednesday, October 26, 2023 following a year long battle with cancer. She was born on November 21, 1963 in Pineville, LA. to Charles Bonnette of Egg Bend, LA and Ethel Bordelon Bonnette of Marksville, LA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Bonnette; brother, Michael Bonnette; sister, Angelle Bonnette; maternal grandparents, Eraste and Ethel Bordelon of Marksville; paternal grandparents, Joseph Cicero Bonnette and Lydia Bonnette.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of almost 20 years, Jason Jarreau; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Margaret and Eddie Jarreau; sister-in-law, Valerie Jarreau; niece, Macie Brouillette; and nephew, Kayton Brouillette; and beloved K-9 companion (Bella) all of Hessmer, LA.

Mrs. Jarreau was a 1981 graduate of Marksville Senior High and a 1983 graduate of Northeast State University where she received a degree in occupational therapy (C.O.T.A.). She continued her education and in 2008 became a Registered Nurse. She worked many jobs throughout the state always maintaining dedication, professionalism, and kindness. She brought her infectious smile and laughed everywhere she went and was deeply loved by all who knew her. Lydia was a woman of faith and despite many tragedies in her life, never lost sight of her Christian value or her love for the Lord and her fellow man.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heart of Hospice and her personal care attendant, Katina Ducote.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Christopher “Adam” Armand, Sr., Matthew Dauzat, Johnathon Dauzat, Keith Dauzat, Rusty Brouillette, and Kayton Brouillette. Honorary pallbearer to serve will be “A.J.” Armand, Jr.,
