Marjorie “Margie” Anne Ravare

Marjorie “Margie” Anne Ravare was born August 26, 1937 to the late Isaac Metoyer and Mary Ila Chelette in Melrose, Louisiana. Marjorie was baptized Catholic; she gave her life to Christ and was dedicated to her faith. She was a native of Alexandria, Louisiana and a resident of Marksville, Louisiana. She obtained her education at St. James Catholic School in Alexandria, La. Margie was the epitome of meekness. She was amazing at creating an atmosphere of love and peacefulness and she was a seamstress and a wonderful homemaker skilled at making each person feel special and loved. Her sisterly bond with “Lizzy” Jones was cherished and unbreakable.

Marjorie departed this life on Sunday, May 1, 2022. She was many things to many different people, a friend, a sister, a mother, a grandmother, an aunt, and a loving devoted wife. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John Ravare Sr., Isaac Jr. and Mary Ila Metoyer; her parents, Linda Metoyer, her sister; Andre Ravare, her son and Jovondre Ravare her grandson. Living on to cherish her memory is her brother Donald Metoyer (Allie) of Alexandria, La; Her sister-in-law Elizabeth Ravare Jones of Marksville, La, her brother-in-law Michael Lewis Ravare of Shreveport, La and her children: John Ravare Jr. (Carla), of Beaumont, TX, Yvette Palmer (Mack III) of Baton Rouge, La, Kenneth Ravare (Donna) of Marksville, La, Yolanda Greenhouse (Clifford) of Friendswood, TX, and Stephan Ravare Sr. (Pamela) of Nacogdoches, TX.

Marjorie “Mamie” was a loving grandmother to Nicholas Dupas, Jasmine Ravare, Shayla Singleton (Crishun Sr.), Courtney Muschett (Ricardo), Brandy Brown (Curt), Ashleigh Williams (Veterian), Mack Palmer IV (Kierra), Erica Washington (Brian Sr.), Kenneth Ravare Jr. (Demetria), Kelsey Ravare, Kourtney Ravare, Bryant Greenhouse, Andrew Greenhouse, Nicollette Greenhouse, Stephan Ravare Jr. and Masia Ravare.

Mamie will be missed by all her great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
