Mary Vead, 89, Marksville

Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Mary Ann Vead will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Dan O’Connor officiating. Interment will be at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery # 3. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.

Mrs. Vead, age 89, of Marksville, LA., passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Riviere de Soleil Community Care Center. She is preceded in death by her son, Kraig Lachney; parents, Eli and Pauline Guillot Dauzat; one brother, Richard “Butch” Dauzat; sisters, Oceanna Bordelon, Arcelin Rousseau and Linda Parks.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Harvey Lachney and Konrad Lachney both of Marksville; one brother, Gene Dauzat; sisters, Doris Neck of Marksville, Christine Dauzat of Fifth Ward; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. and reopen on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. until 9:40 a.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2023.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Logan Cheek, Eric Young, Shawn Lachney, Daniel Lachney, Trent Brouillette and Eli Lachney. Honorary pallbearers are her two sons Harvey Lachney and Konrad Lachney.
