Mercedes Fontenot, age 84, of Marksville

Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Mercedes Kelone Fontenot will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Dan O’Connor officiating. Interment will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery # 2. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mrs. Mercedes Fontenot, age 84, of Marksville, LA. passed away at her residence in Marksville, LA. on Sunday, April 24, 2022.
Mrs. Fontenot is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Fontenot; parents, Charles and Sepher Bordelon Kelone; brother, Charles Gene Kelone; 2 grandchildren, Izzabella Lynn Wilson and Dale Paul Fontenot; and one son in law, Michael Guillory.
Those left to cherish her memory are 3 sons, Johnny (Debra) Fontenot, Clyde (Juliet) Fontenot, and Dale (Mona) Fontenot; 5 daughters, Glenda (Clinton) Courville, Marilyn (Michael) Villemarette, Pam Guillory, Patricia Lacombe (Ricky McNeal) and Donna Fontenot; 35 grandchildren; 80 great grandchildren; and 26 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 7:00 a.m. until the time of services
A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.
