Mildred Ducote, 98, Marksville

Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Mildred Brouillette Ducote will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Kurian Zachariah officiating. Interment will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Moncla, LA. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mrs. Ducote, age 98, of Marksville, LA. passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Valley View Community Care Center in Mansura, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Beatrice Brouillette; husband, Julius C. Ducote, Sr.; sons, Steven Ducote, Phillip Ducote, Julius C. Ducote, Jr., and Johnny Leon Ducote; brother, Woodruff Brouillette; sisters, Leona Guillot and Viola Brouillette.
Born in Elm Grove Louisiana, “Momie” was a loving caring mother who raised six children. As a devoted parishioner of St.John the Baptist Catholic Church in Moncla, she served as a member of the alter-society. Working side by side with her husband in the fields she helped provide for her family. In her spare-time she loved working in her flower beds, yet still took time to sew clothes for all her children and cook the most delicious home-cooked meals. Her love for her family and friends was demonstrated by her big tight hugs and kisses.
Those left to cherish her memory are son, Glenn M. Ducote, Sr. of Moncla; daughter, Peggy Spruill (Oren) of Breaux Bridge; daughter in-law, Beverly Ducote of Moncla; sister, Jeanette Killebrew of Texas; eight grandchildren, Deidre Hines (Chris), Melanie Martinez (Joe), Brandon Spruill (Janice), Joey Ducote (Brandi), Kristin Molbert (Charles), Brett Ducote, fifteen great grandchildren, Trey Mitchell Joseph Laborde, Brittany Leigh Brooke Ducote, Lindsay Mae Elizabeth Lindmeier, Cameron Joseph Martinez, Christian Ewing Curby Hines, Peyton Sue-Ann Hines, Tobe’ Glenn Ducote (Sarah), Chevy Phillip Ducote, Lillian Raye Ducote, Mason Lee Marchand, Kingston Joseph Marchand, Oren Preston Spruill, Cameron Joseph Ducote, Steven Louis Ducote, Maddison Morgan Ducote, Madelyn Elise Molbert, Vivienne Claire Molbert, Ava Lynn Ducote; and four great-great grandchildren, Katelyn Lopez, Zaidan Juneau, Ella Laborde, and Violet Ford. She is also survived by extended family and friends.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Brandon Spruill, Charles Molbert, Christopher Hines, Christian Hines, Joey Ducote, Brett Ducote, Brody Ducote, and Glenn “T-Doo” Ducote, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home and will resume on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 until time of the service. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers at 6:00 p.m. with Father Kurian Zachariah.
