Muriel Agnes LaCour Gaspard, 80, Echo

A Mass of Christian Burial for Muriel Gaspard will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Rev. Dwight de Jesus officiating. Entombment will follow in the St. Francis de Sales Mausoleum under the direction of Kramer Funeral Home of Fifth Ward.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Kramer Funeral Home of Fifth Ward. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at 10:30 a.m., led by Deacon Darrell Dubroc.
Muriel Agnes LaCour Gaspard, 80, of Echo, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023, in Oakmont Estates Assisted Living.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald V. Gaspard; her father and mother, Murray L. LaCour and Elsie M. Armand LaCour; one grandson, Lance J. Joffrion; two granddaughters, Sandy Lynn Dubea and Lori Ann Bernard.
Muriel was born in Mansura on January 19, 1943. Family was always very important to her. She loved working with children through her 30 year career as an educator. She was a dedicated member of the Alter Society at her church, St. Francis de Sales. Muriel was also very proud of her flowers and plants in her home and her yard.
Those left to cherish her memory include her three daughters, Lisa Bernard (Robert) of Fifth Ward, Deborah Joffrion (Danny) of Poland, and Donna Sue Speir (Scott) of Pineville; two brothers, Ronald LaCour of Alabama and Patrick LaCour of Mansura; one sister, Janice LaCour of Baton Rouge; and six grandchildren, Cain Bernard, Megan Joffrion Fontenot (Benjamin), Whitney Joffrion, Gretchen Speir Miller (Joshua), Mallory Speir and Kara Speir.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Robert Bernard, Danny Joffrion, Scott Speir, Cain Bernard, Benjamin Fontenot and Joshua Miller.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Patrick LaCour and Ronald LaCour.
