Olenia M. Guillory, 80, Marksville

Memorial Services for Olenia M. Guillory will be held, Tuesday, May 18 at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, prior to the Memorial Service.

Mrs. Guillory, age 80, a matriarch to many in Gibson and Marksville, on Sunday, May 16 at 9:45 p.m., surrounded by her loving husband of 64 years and 5 children, journeyed peacefully to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the comfort of her home. She joins her father, mother, sister and grandchild in the kingdom of God.

Born on April 30, 1941, Olenia met and married the love of her life, John Y. Guillory. They have 5 beautiful children, 11grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren together.

She is survived by her husband, John Y. Guillory, their 5 children, Doris Guillory, Darlene Clemons, Errol Guillory, Danita Guillory, Hobart Guillory, son-n-law Timothy Clemons, and daughter-n-law Tami Guillory.

As a devout Jehovah’s Witness, Olenia passed her love and wisdom to those around her, a matriarch to all she knew. She loved to garden, crochet and embroider. Most of all Olenia devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She found great joy in caring for them and has made a lasting impact on them all that will be carried on for generations to come.
