Peggy Jane Brouillette Crossen, 76, Marksville native

Peggy Jane Brouillette Crossen, 76, passed away on April 5, 2024 after a brief illness. Peggy was born on June 7, 1947 to John and Sybil Brouillette in Marksville, LA. Peggy graduated from Marksville High School and went on to later graduate from LSU Medical School of Nursing. After graduating high school, she started her first job at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. During this time she met Ashton, her husband of 48 years. Peggy and Ashton went on to raise three children, Mikel, Kevin and Leslie in River Ridge, LA, where she met some of her closest friends.

Peggy went back to school in order to specialize in neonatal intensive care nursing, where she spent the most rewarding years of her career caring for babies. In 2007, Peggy retired and spent her time doing the things she loved; gardening, reading, traveling and most of all living for her grandchildren. She rarely missed any of the numerous activities her grandchildren were involved with. She was an amazing mother and grandmother to all of her children and grandchildren and will be missed so much.

Peggy was predeceased in death by her parents, John and Sybil Brouillette, her brother John Brouillette, Jr., sister Sylvia Edwards and husband Ashton Crossen. She is survived by her children, Mikel (Lisa), Kevin (Angela) and Leslie Crossen, her brothers Jack (Elaine) and Chris (Sandra) Brouillette, her grandchildren Billy (Blair), Gavin, Jake, Samantha and Caroline Crossen and step-grandchildren Maddie (Clint) Ogletree, Evan Futch and Timber Ogletree. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

A memorial service will be announced at a later dat
