Pete Lubcker of Marshall, TX

With great sadness and very heavy hearts, the family of Pete Lubcker of Marshall, TX announces his unexpected passing on the morning of October 12th, 2021 with his wife, Antje by his side.

Pete was the only child of William and Wilma Lubcker, born in New York City. Due to Pete’s health issues, they moved to Florida and he grew up in Hollywood, FL. After high school, he went to Louisiana Tech and graduated in 1965. His first love was animal science, his second love was engineering. Pete worked in the lumber industry, construction and moved overseas in the mid 80’s where he worked on special assignments. He completed his career as a project manager for Lurgi, a German engineering firm.

During this time, Pete met his wife, Antje. He asked her to marry him on January 1st, 2000 and they got married on October 26th, 2000. After his retirement, Pete and Antje moved to Marshall, Texas and made their home on an 80 acre farm. It was the greatest time of their lives, as they both enjoyed the farm, work, the outdoors and taking trips together. Pete loved construction, it was natural that he reconstructed and remodeled their house upon returning to Texas.

Pete had the biggest heart known to man, he was a proud man that loved his wife, his two daughters, granddaughters and great granddaughter to whom he was affectional known as Opa. He surrounded himself with friends and was happy to call Hans, Steffi, Eva and Stefan family. He also had two great animals, Kay (dog) and Mickey (cat) who adored and followed him everywhere. Kay was his frequent co-passenger who would go everywhere he went and Mickey would snuggle up with him every night. Pete never met a stranger, he would talk to anyone and bring a bright light into the room. He was always the glass is half full kind of man who tremendously respected others. His famous saying was “always respect your elders”. He will be terribly missed.

Pete was big fan of golfing and football. LSU and Dallas Cowboys were his favorite teams.

Those who are left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 21 years, Antje Lubcker of Marshall, TX; two daughters; Kimberly Bennett and husband Billy of Marksville, LA; Darla Davis and husband Bobby of Ball, LA; grandchildren Haley Simpson and husband Cole of Pineville, LA; Lacey Hutchinson of Baton Rouge, LA; Danielle Davis of Ball, LA; step-granddaughter Stephanie Vajcner and great grandchildren along with his parent-in-laws, Dr. Hansjoerg and Steffi Herden of Rodgau, Germany and sister-in-law Eva Greil and Dr. Stephan of Berlin, Germany, extended family Hank and Darlene Clark of Ball, LA as well as several cousins.
