Phillip Whittington, age 93, of Cheneyville

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held for Philip Whittington, Jr. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Vandenburg Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Holston officiating. Burial will follow in the Vandenburg Cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Mr. Whittington, age 93, of Cheneyville, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the Bayou Vista Nursing and Rehab Center in Bunkie. Mr. Whittington was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a former employee of Charles Pearce TV Repair, ACA of Alexandria and retired from England Air Force Base as air conditioning and mechanical specialist. He loved working on televisions, radios, air conditioners and anything electrical. He also loved photography and crafts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Flossie Whittington; his two brothers, L.V. (Buster) Whittington and D.W. Whittington; his two sisters, Gaynell Cook and Joyce Foote; his three nephews, Ronald Cook, Donald Whittington and Jimmie Foote and his niece, Patricia Dooley.

He is survived by his nieces, Glenda Beatty and husband, Wayne, of Kilgore, TX, Debi Hajek of Canyon Lake, TX, Cammie Whittington of Alexandria, LA and Sandy Cook of Cheneyville and his two nephews, Greg Foote and wife, Lona, of Cheneyville and David Whittington and wife, Claudia, of Schwanstetten, Germany.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Greg Foote, Wayne Beaty, Bryan Cook and Jason Cook.
