Quentroy Cole, Bunkie

A Service of Remembrance and Friendship for Quentroy Dewayne Cole will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 10:15 a.m., in the chapel of Melancon Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Jackson officiating. Burial will take place at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Bunkie under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.
The family requests visitation be observed at Melancon Funeral Home on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Without much time to say farewell or goodbye, Troy passed from the struggles of this present age into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, April 2, 2021, in Marksville, Louisiana.
Quentroy Dewayne Cole was born to Rosie Eggins Sherman and Jerry Cole in Bunkie, Louisiana, on November 1, 1975. His early childhood years were spent growing up in the community of Bunkie, Louisiana until his family moved to Beaumont, Texas in August of 1980.
Troy, as he was passionately called by those who knew and loved him, graduated from West Brook High School in Beaumont, Texas. After high school, he was employed in the construction industry. Always possessing a quiet and gentle spirit, Troy was an enthusiastic sports fan – especially of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He held a special bond with his mother, daughter, siblings, uncles, and aunts.
Quentroy was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Cole; maternal grandfather, Johnny Eggins; maternal grandmother, Ora Lee Eggins; and his aunt, Johnnie Mae Eggins Fulton.
Troy will be greatly missed by his beloved mother, Rosie E. Sherman of Bunkie, LA; one daughter, Quentoria Cole of Bunkie, LA; two brothers, Christopher (Aquino) Cole of Bunkie, LA and Travis Cole of San Francisco, CA; one uncle, Kenneth (Chanta) Eggins of Bunkie, LA; two aunts, Bertha (Robert) Jones and Mary (Fredrick) Holmes, both of Bunkie, LA; two nephews, Caleb Pete and Mehkai Pete, both of Pineville, LA; two nieces, Toilaysha Johnson and Ahniya Johnson, both of Shreveport, LA; and many other relatives and friends.
