Ray Alcide Broussard, 81, of Alexandria

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ray Alcide Broussard will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, March 11, 2022, at St. Francis Cabrini Church, Alexandria, with Reverend Chad Partain officiating. Interment will follow in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery, Echo, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

The family requests visitation be held Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Recitation of Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be his son, Eric Hatcher and his nephew, Loney Broussard.

Ray Alcide Broussard, 81, of Alexandria, passed from this life on Saturday, March 5, 2022, in Riviere de Soleil Community Care Center, Mansura.

During his working career he was a butcher/meat cutter. He had a natural talent for woodworking and found much joy in creating new pieces in his workshop. His greatest joys were his grandchildren who called him Poppa. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother and friend who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Celeste Burke Broussard; son, William P. Hatcher; his parents, Loney and Winnis Guillot Broussard; brother, Mark Broussard and sister, Shirley Seiler.

Ray leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Kelly Hatcher; son, Eric Hatcher and wife, Susan; granddaughter, Meagan Elizabeth Ball and husband, Joe; great grandchildren, Emily "Lannis" Ball and Saffie Ball; brother, Joseph Broussard and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Riviere de Soleil Community Care Center, Mansura, and the staff and nurses of All Saints Hospice for their loving care.
