Rayford D. Sherrill, Deville

Graveside services with military honors for Rayford D. Sherrill will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2024 at Paul Cemetery, Deville with Reverend Emitte Belgard officiating.

Pallbearers will be Lane Aymond, Hunter Aymond, Hayden Aymond, Dusty Dauzat, and Robbie Amons.

Mr. Sherrill, 87, of Deville, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at is home.

Mr. Sherrill served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. For over 30 years he was the owner of Dick’s Small Engine Repair. Rayford enjoyed fishing and hunting. He never met a stranger and would go out of his way to help others. Rayford loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Jewel Paul Sherrill; parents, Elick and Pearl Rollins Sherrill, and son, Nicholas “Nick” Sherrill.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Tammy Lynn Amons; grandchildren, Mikie Aymond (Lane), Dusty Dauzat (Amber), Robert Amons IV, and Kristi Amons; 7 great grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.
