Rebecca Parr, 82, Marksville native

Rebecca "Becky" Marie (Neck) Mixon Parr, 82, passed away from cancer on June 6, 2021 surrounded by family. Born on May 7, 1939 in Marksville to the late Louis Sr. and Rena (Duet) Neck, Becky grew up in Baton Rouge and later moved to Gonzales, LA where she lived for over 40 years. She worked many years at local plants for Payne & Keller, JE Merrit, and others as an office manager/ purchaser/ time keeper. In her retirement years, she worked for local small businesses, most recently for Lamendola's Supermarket. She loved to "tell it like it is" and was determinedly self-reliant, enjoying a simple life in the country. She was happiest with nature and animals, with a particular fondness for cats. Becky is survived by her five children: Michael (Pam) Mixon, Stephanie (Allan) Miller, Stephen (Melissa) Mixon, Gwen Mixon, Dannielle Mixon; sister-in-law Antoinette "Rita" Neck; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Louis Neck, Jr; spouse John B. Parr; and grandson Jeremy Christian. At Becky's request, there will be no memorial service. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to any animal rescue organization.
