Rella Marie Holmes, 81, Mansura

Funeral service for Rella Marie Holmes of Mansura will begin at 10:00am on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura with Fr. Abraham Palakkattuchira. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery #3 in Fifth Ward. Visitation will begin at 5:00pm until 9:00pm on Friday, December 29, 2023, and resume at 8:00am until 10:00am on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.

Rella Marie Holmes, age 81, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at her home in Mansura.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Joel (Tracey) Kelone; daughters, Bernadette (Michael) Moncrief and Wanda Kelone; stepdaughters, Lynn Lemoine and Debbie Holmes; Brother, Ruben (Linda) Dauzat. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Layton Coco, Tynan Coco, Ashley (Ottis) Dodge, Jesse (Shae) Kelone, Dane (Megan) Kelone, Ben (Tracie) Kelone, Charles (Brandi) Armand, Joshua Moncrief; 4 step-grandchildren: Shannon (Sissy) Lemoine, Crystal Lemoine, Amy Trevino, Justin Borden; a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers: Charles Armand, Jesse Kelone, Sr., Ben Kelone, Hunter Kelone, Shannon Lemoine, & Michael Moncrief, Joshua Moncrief, and Jesse Kelone, Jr. Honorary pallbearers: Ruben Dauzat and Joel Kelone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Holmes; parents, Sidney & Susie Dauzat; grandson, Kynan “T-boy” Coco, Jr.; great-grandchild, Jaylyn Armand.

The family would like to thank Hessmer Nursing Home, R.N. Brittney Stickells, and Christus Hospice for their care and compassion; and all who loved and cared for Rella throughout her life.
