Robert Harris, 85, Deville

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Carl Harris will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at Big Island Baptist Church, Deville, with Reverend David Gatch officiating. Interment will follow in Big Island Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mr. Harris, 85, of Deville, entered eternal rest on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, LA.
He was a native of Ohio and retired from the United States Air Force as a military police and small-arms instructor. After retirement he spent the rest of his life in Deville where he went on to work at Koplin Jewelers, then Sentry Drug in Alexandria. He enjoyed watch and clock repairing. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ruth Harris; one brother, Richard Harris; and one sister, Jean Ann Dishong.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife, Aline Harris, of Deville; two sisters, Nancy Bigelow, of Ohio and Toni Hoenicke and her husband, Gil, of Ohio; brother-in-law, Shelby Nation and his wife, Rhonda, of Pineville; sister-in-law, Ellen Gordon, of Deville; and one nephew, Walker Nation and his wife, Taylor, Kolin.
A time of visitation will be held at Big Island Baptist Church, on Thursday, May 6, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers honored to serve are: Don Kendrick, Scott Crooks, Benjamin Gatch, Timothy Jolly, Shelton Crooks and Tyler Holland.
