Robert Martin, 86, Hessmer

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Robert Dale Martin will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marksville with Father Dan O’Connor officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery #2 Mausoleum, Marksville. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.

Mr. Martin, age 86, of Hessmer, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Riviere De Soleil Community Care Center in Mansura.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Nell Gaspard Martin; parents, Lucas, Jr. and Verlie Janice Martin; son, Michael “Mike” Martin, and his wife Julie.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Wayne Martin, wife Laura of Zachary; daughters, Lisa Martin Newman, husband Dempsey of Denham Springs, and Laura Martin Lee, husband Bruce of Bowling Green, Ky.; brother, Roderic Martin, wife Mary of Houston, Tx.; sisters, Flita Martin Chenevert of Marksville, Elia Martin Gauthier, husband Floyd of Hessmer, and Laurette Martin Reynolds of Bunkie. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Philip Breeden, wife Megan, Abbey Breeden, Jonathan Martin, Emily Martin, Camden Lee, and Ethan Lee.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Deacon Ken Primeaux officiating. Visitation will reopen at the funeral home, Wednesday morning from 8:00 a.m. until time of the services.
