Ronald Wade Johnson, Sr.,, Bunkie

A service of Remembrance and Friendship celebrating the life of Mr. Ronald Wade Johnson, Sr., will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Progressive Funeral Home in Bunkie, LA with Pastor Floyd Racks officiating. Visitation will be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Interment will follow immediately at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery in Golddust, LA.
Ronald Johnson, 69, of Bunkie, passed from the struggles of this present age into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, October 29, 2021, while at his home.
Ronald was born on March 22, 1952, in Pineville, LA, to the union of his parents, Johnny Johnson Sr. and Eola Guient Johnson. Upon graduating from Bunkie High School in 1971, Ronald located to Chicago, Illinois, where he resided and worked there for many years. Later in life, he returned to his childhood home of Bunkie. A simple and quiet gentleman, he will forever be remembered as a faithful and loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Ronald’s parents would precede him in death, along with five (5) brothers, Johnny Johnson, Jr., Earnest Johnson, Sr., Oscar Johnson, Sr., Earl Johnson, and Levi Johnson, Sr.; and four (4) sisters, Louise Johnson, Rosa Lee Griffin, Mary Jane Diggs, and Janell Robinson.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his two (2) sons, Ronald Johnson, Jr., of Chicago, Illinois and Reuben Johnson of Katy, Texas; one (1) daughter, Rachel J. Bethea of Vodosta, Georgia; his twin brother, Donald Johnson of Bunkie, LA; three (3) sisters, Gloria Blue of Cheneyville, LA, Nannie Martin of Gretna, LA, and Alma Eggins of Bunkie, LA; five (5) grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
