Sam C. Blankenship, 85, Hessmer

Funeral services for Sam Clay Blankenship of Hessmer, former native of Bunkie, will take place at the Escude Funeral Home of Mansura on Thursday, March 28th, 2024 beginning at 6:30pm. A visitation will also be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 2:00pm to 9:00pm. Burial will take place at a later date with private services.

Sam C. Blankenship, age 85, passed away at the Rapides Regional Medical Center on Monday, March 25th, 2024. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War and he served with the United States Army, Airforce, and National Guard.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Bruce Blankenship and wife Sharon of Bayou Chicot and Boyd Blankenship and wife Carolina of Mansura. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Marie Janet Blankenship; parents, Edward W. & Violet McDaniel Blankenship; and his brothers, John, Robert, Oscar, and Roy Blankenship.
