Sam J. Williams, Sr., 84, Marksville

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Sam J. Williams, Sr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church with Fr. Abraham Varghese officiating. Burial will be held at Holy Ghost Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Williams, 84 of Marksville, LA passed from this life on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his mother, Lizzie Jones; father, Gus Williams; four brothers, Charlie, Lester, Gerard, and Clifton Jones; daughters, Toni Williams and Jennifer Williams-Ford; grandsons, Silas Ford and DeVal M. Andrews, Sr.
Those left to cherish his memories include his devoted wife of 62 years, Betty J. Francisco Williams of Marksville, LA., loving daughters, Patricia Lavalais (Mike) Marksville, Arlene Andrews (Houston), Sammy Jr., Marksville; brothers, Ronald Lee Jones (Lorraine) Bunkie, Mike Jones (Sandra) Dallas; sisters, Jeanette Washington, Sylvia, and Mae Bell Jones (Cottonport), Irma Ford (Marksville) and Shirley Tompkins (George) Cottonport. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews along with a host of loving cousins and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Williams will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. in the Chapel of Hixson at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville, LA. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. with Father Abraham Varghese officiation in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral home.
