Sherill Anne Pastor Laborde, 72, Bordelonville

Funeral services for Sherill Anne Pastor Laborde will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marksville, Louisiana with Father Charles Ray officiating and Father Dan O’Connor co-officiating. Internment will be St. Joseph Mausoleum #2. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.

Ms. Laborde, age 72, of Bordelonville, passed away at The Blake at Colonial Club in Harahan, Louisiana on Monday, November 6, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Essie Bordelon Pastor; sisters, Bernadine Maddie, Barbara Maddie, Julia Rachel, Gloria Chatelain; brothers, Gene Pastor and Don Pastor.

Ms. Laborde spent her life serving others. She retired after 33 years from the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services, serving as a clerical assistant. She then went back to work for the Avoyelles Parish District Attorney’s Office as a Child Support Enforcement Analysist. She spent her final working years as an administrative assistant for Louisiana Supreme Court Justice Jeannette Knoll. She was on the Louisiana State Board for Child Support Enforcement.

She spent her life volunteering in various local organizations including St. Joseph’s Catholic Daughters, The Fox Theater, and the Marksville Garden Club. Through the Garden Club she earned her Master Gardener credentials and became a national Garden Club Flower Show judge. She was integral in gaining the Blue Star Memorial certification for Hwy 1. She exhibited true joy for life’s pleasures including beating her friends at dominos and making a “pass” around Avoyelles Parish.

Ms. Laborde leaves behind her daughter, Renée Laborde Webb (Eric) of New Orleans; son, John Robert Laborde (Krissi) of Marksville; sister, Linda Pastor Turner of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Francis Pastor of California and W.J. Pastor of Pineville; grandchildren, Camille Grace DeSoto, Lillian Noel Webb, and John David Laborde.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Eric Webb, Heath Pastor, Wayne Turner, W.J. Pastor, John Robert Laborde, and Damon Juneau.

Visitation will be held at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
