St. Clair Adam Paul, 96, Effie

Funeral services for Mr. St. Clair Adam Paul will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Wiley, Reverend Seth Gaspard(grandson), Reverend Carl Beard Jr., and Reverend Danny Aycock officiating. Interment will be held at St. Joseph Mausoleum #2. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.

Mr. Paul, age 96, of Effie LA., passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at his residence. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Marie Paul; first wife, Velma Moras Paul; infant son, Jeff Paul; brothers, Cleveland Paul, Ozia Paul, Hayward Paul, Jacob Rachel; sisters, Della Cox, Corrine Rachel, Theresa Paul, Eunice Rachel, Lena Bardwell; grandmother, Pinkey Moses; mother-in-law, Doris Brown; sister-in-law, Karen Floyd; brother-in-law’s, Teddy Dodge and Roger Cole.

Mr. Paul was a native of Bluetown and a resident of Effie. He attended school at the one room community school in Brouillette. After two years he had to drop out to help on the family farm, where he helped many family members. He worked Andruson/ Abbott and Morock Ford from 1956 until his retirement in 1975 as an automobile mechanic. There after he was self employed at St. Clair’s Auto & A/C until 2020. His last job he completed was at 93 years old. He was a faithful member of Centerpoint Pentecostal Church for 34 years under the ministry of Reverend Douglas and Sister Belgard. He currently attended Landmark Tabernacle Church in Pineville under the ministry of Reverend Gary Wiley. Until we meet again.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Linda Mitchell Paul of Effie; two daughters, Betty Gaspard (Chantz) of Effie, Brandie Chiasson (Steve) of Effie; four grandchildren, Taylor Gaspard (Sarah), Seth Gaspard (Sierra), Nichole “Nikki” Cole (Brian), Micah Lavergne (Chase); seven great-grandchildren, Kylan, Canaan, Taytum, Yesenia, Asher, Harlaan and Josephine “Josie” whom he adored; and his niece, Paula Morris.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will resume on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Steve Chiasson, Chantz Gaspard, Brian Cole, Taylor Gaspard, Seth Gaspard and Winston “ Fred” Hayes.

Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Moras, Pete Blackman, Pat Eversall, Teddy Dodge, Jr., Eldon Dodge, H.J. Paul, Reggie Dodge, Tendol Hudson, Bruce Cole, Wayne Dauzat and Vernon Cole.

The family would like to give a special thanks to All Saints Hospice for their excellent care, especially Mrs. Kayla Warren “his nurse”.

In Lieu of flowers, the family request house plants instead of flower stands in the memory of Mr. St. Clair Paul.
