Ted Chatelain, 82, Mansura

Funeral Mass for Ted James Chatelain of Mansura will begin at 2:00pm on Friday, March 11, 2022 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Mansura with Fr. Irion St. Romain officiating. Entombment will follow at the St. Paul Catholic Mausoleum.

Ted Chatelain, age 82, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 at the Avoyelles Hospital of Marksville. He retired from the Avoyelles Parish School Board after 25 years of being the Mansura High School band director. He then retired from the Office of Motor Vehicles in Marksville after 10 years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two amazing daughters, Cindy Chatelain VanNatta (Milton) of Shreveport and Karleen Chatelain Lacombe of Marksville; four beautiful granddaughters, Amber Lacombe, Laurie VanNatta Jones (Evan), Katie VanNatta, and Mollie VanNatta; also survived by three adorable great-grandchildren, Levi & Ella Jones, and Axil Lacombe.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 62 years, Madeline “May” Moreau Chatelain; parents, George & Rena Dorgant Chatelain; sister, Barbara “Bobbie” Chatelain Langlois.

Visitation will begin at 12:00pm until time of funeral mass on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Escude Funeral Home of Mansura. Rosary prayer will begin at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the St. Paul the Apostle Knights of Columbus Chapter in Mansura.
