Teddy Smith, 84, Marksville

Teddy Dewayne Smith born on January 20, 1937, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the age of 84. He was born in Venice, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of Venice until moving to Marksville, Louisiana, then finally settling in Houma, Louisiana. Beloved husband of the late Audrey Fitzgerald Smith for 62 years. Preceded in death by his son, Michael Anthony Smith, his father, Gordon Smith, mother, Nellie Buras Champagne, and sister, Miriam Smith Cook. He is survived by his daughter, Suzette Smith Adams (Michael), granddaughters, Lisa Smith Morgan (James), and Suzette Smith Meynard (Jeremy), grandson, Waylon Adams (Courtney) and great grandchildren, Clayton Desport, Jr. James Morgan IV (fiancé, Hayden), and Baylee Meynard, and great great grandson, Sebastian Morgan. He liked Nascar racing, liked to trawl, and loved animals, especially horses. He retired from Texaco after many years of service. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd. Marrero, LA on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 6pm until 9pm. Visitation will continue at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland, 12369 LA 416, Lakeland, LA 70752 from 10am until 12pm followed by the Funeral Mass at 12pm.
