Velma L. Keller Harris, 92, Marksville

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Velma L. Keller Harris will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 5th, 2023 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Marksville with Rev. Abraham Varghese officiating. Interment will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville.

Mrs. Harris, age 92, formerly of Marksville, passed away on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023 at Ascension Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Gonzales. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Joseph Harris, Sr.; parents, Peter, Sr. and Eva Guillot Keller; brothers, Raymond Keller, and Peter Keller, Jr.; sister, Ruth Keller Nash.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Sandra Harris Bruno of Long Beach, CA, Henry Joseph Harris, Jr. (Angela) of Somerset, NJ, Albert Jerome Harris of LaPlace, LA, and John Fitzgerald Harris, Sr. (Earnestine) of Geismar, LA; sister, Sable Gordon of Marksville. She also leaves behind a host of numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jehrel A. Bruno, Henry J. Harris, III, John F. Harris, Sr., John F. Harris, Jr., Lloyd Nash, Jr., and Peter Nash.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m., during visitation time. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. until shortly before time to proceed to the church for the Funeral mass.
